Creately is a cloud-based web diagramming tool. Using Creately, we can collaborate in real-time on visual projects such as org. charts, project wireframes and charts. There are several advantageous features of Creately that enhance the productivity of the Framework team. Firstly, Creately diagrams can be created in one place (online), then distributed widely. Creately Diagrams can be linked to (published as a website), embedded in an HTML site or blog, or sent as an email attachment. Images can be saved as public or private, and can be also exported as an image (JPEG, PNG), PDF or as XML data. The ability to collaborate on diagrams in real-time, and save the image as XML data or as an embedded image on a website makes Creately a great tool for us.
Since Creately is a new software tool, there are some issues to be worked out. We are excited for multiple payment options, since currently the only form of payment accepted for Pro licencing is through PayPal. International payment / software licencing makes it challenging for us to only pay using this method. Also, we have run into bugs with file locations, specifically not being able to find previously saved versions of a file. We look forward to future releases where these bugs are resolved.
