Civic Footprint TV

Civic Footprint TV Strategy
Goals:
  • Build awareness about Civic Footprint and engage with young professionals to encourage high quality engagement through giving, volunteering, and participating.
  • Develop a content-rich database of e-learning videos and webinars related to Civic Engagement. Produce video content focused on our philosophy behind organizational pilates.
  • Produce visuals for how we use hardware and software tools, such as the HP Touch Smart, to provide Corporate Suppliers with concrete examples of how we are using their product and feedback from users we showcase this to.
  • Subscribe to other channels such as Imagine Canada and Volunteer Calgary with the objective of getting relevant content to our network of agencies.

Filming Schedule:
To maintain regular and engaging content, as well as a loyal audience, we will identify two to three days per month dedicated to the ongoing production of our videos.  Following the full days of filming, we will dedicate resources to post-production and promotion of the new videos.

Categories / Content Organization
The Civic Footprint TV videos will contain categories similar to the blog.  We will focus on producing content that relates to organizational pilates, strengthening our core, and illustrating our uses of technology.  In some cases, videos will be produced to promote our Timeraiser events, build further content around issues,

  • Organizational Pilates
  • Civic Footprint & Civic Engagement
  • Our Use of Technology
  • Timeraiser Events
  • Broad E-Learning Topics
  • Framework Fun

Promotion of Videos
Youtube makes it very easy to embed and link to videos.  We will promote new videos by adding them to the Timeraiser and Civic Footprint fan pages (where content is appropriate for both). As a best practise, we will use bit.ly to promote new videos on Twitter, in order to best track the number of clickthroughs and retweets of our video content.

Youtube

YouTube is currently the most popular video streaming site, one that integrates with Google Applications, Facebook and blogs with ease. We have selected YouTube as the home for our Civic Footprint videos. Our YouTube Channel is titled Civic Footprint TV.

Subscriptions on You Tube Civic Footprint
We want to subscribe to the leading You Tube channels such as Volunteer Vancouver and Volunteer Calgary. Our goal is to grow this subscription list to over 100 of the leading individuals and organizations.

Integration with Ustream
We envision future use of Ustream as a method for live webinar sessions. As we continue to develop e-learning videos, we can use Ustream to hold online lunch and learn sessions, live demos of our software, and interact with our viewers in real-time.

Publishing to iTunes - Video Podcasts

Once we establish a regular posting schedule for new videos, we will post our videos to iTunes and offer a Video Podcasting subscription. The iTunes Podcast subscription gives viewers the option of downloading our video production to their mobile device.

Measurement
We will measure the impact and success of our Civic Footprint TV campaign by measuring:

- The number of YouTube views & comments
- The number of Retweets and click throughs from Twitter posts
